LSA2.2: Intermediate/Advanced Painting Techniques with Lee Stephens

A popular course run by experienced painting tutor Lee Stephens.

Description

Join Lee in this 6 week intermediate/advanced painting course. Lee will guide you through a range of painting techniques and exercises to further develop your work. Students can work in oils or acrylics, or both.

Please note there will be no classes  on the 8 May, 5 June and the 12 June 2023.

Prerequisites

This course requires some basic painting knowledge.

Suitable for intermediate and advanced students.

Supplies

Students required to bring their own art supplies (ie: paints, brushes and canvas, paper or board)

1. Pencil or charcoal / rubber

2. Ruler always helpful

3. Assorted Acrylic Paint brushes

4. Roll of paper towel- NB!!!!

5. Mixing Pallet (Stay wet pallet works very well)

6. Pallet knife

7. Roll of glad wrap (plastic food wrap)

8. Notebook to take notes down

9. Gesso

10. Spare canvas (small canvas panel/board for practicing) very helpful

11. Water spray bottle

12. Masking tape

13. Acrylic paint:

Phthalo blue; French Ultramarine, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium red Hue or vermillion, Lemon yellow, Cadmium yellow deep, Black (lamp or Mars), Titanium white,  Sap Green, Magenta, Yellow Ochre,  Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna

Please do not buy the cheapest brand of paint you can find. The colours are not correct and mixing becomes extremely difficult.
