Ever wanted to learn how to throw on a Potter's wheel? Then this beginners / intermediate class for you.
This class is a mixed class for those who wish to learn how to throw on the wheel or extend their throwing skills.
For beginners the focus will be on throwing cylinders which is the basis of most pottery forms, and bowls. You will also learn how to trim and tidy your pieces. For those who have already mastered this, you will learn to make galleries, lids, handles and spouts.
Towards the end of term you will learn the basics of glazing.
Students to supply own clay and tools. Firing costs extra.

Clay recommendations PW20, Macs Stoneware Buff or Classic White or any other cone 6 stoneware clay. This can be purchased at CCG or Estuary Arts.
Beginners are advised to buy their own pottery starter tool kit from CCG or Gordon Harris.
