Description
Basic Soapmaking: In this 3 hour session, you will learn the basics of soapmaking and have a chance to make your own soap from scratch, using oils that you can buy in the supermarket. In the theory part you will find out how soap works and you will learn about the cold process method of soap making. Topics covered include colouring and fragrancing your soap, adding other ingredients such as clays and exfoliants to your soaps, natural soapmaking, and troubleshooting. During the practical session, you will make a small loaf of soap (500 ml), which is approximately 4 full sized or 8 guest sized bars of soap. All materials and ingredients are included, and each participant will also receive a silicon soap mould that they get to keep.
