In this class our skilled potter Di Toi will demonstrate a new technique each week to help you to upgrade your thrown pieces. Di will assist the class with wheel throwing skills throughout the term, additionally each week Di will demonstrate a new design technique to help elevate your pieces. 

First 4 week sessions (17 July to 7 August), will cover:

 Underglazing, carving, scraffito, and wax/water etching.

 

Second 4 week session (12 August to 2 September):

Mishima/inlay, throwing and altering, faceting, and newsprint paper transfers. 

 

Clay, Glazing, and Firing costs are extra.

Cost Breakdown Member: $156.75 Incl. GST = $39.19 per class ($13.06 per hour)

Cost Breakdown Non Member: $165.00 Incl. GST = $41.25 per class ($13.75 per hour).

Prerequisites

For those who have had a term or more at the wheel and want to add to their skill level.

Beginner/Intermediate level.

*You will need pieces ready at the leather hard stage to try most of these techniques.

 

Supplies

Basic tool kit available from the tutor for $15.00.

Clay can be purchased from EAC on the day.

Clay, firing and glazing costs are extra.

Please bring an apron, a hand towel and some plastic bags.
