JLW: Mosaic Birdbath Workshop with Joanne Luker

In this fun and interactive workshop you will learn how to mosaic a bird bath bowl using recycled, broken porcelain, colourful glass tiles and found objects.

Description

This is a very inspiring and therapeutic way to spend a weekend by fitting broken pieces together and creating a bespoke, practical, garden or balcony piece.

On Saturday, we'll talk about the mosaic process for an outdoor piece, plan, and glue our tiles/porcelain to the bird bath bases and leave them to dry overnight.    We will finish for the day at around 3:30pm.

On Sunday morning, we'll grout and clean them up. All materials are provided, (including your cement bird bath bowl base).  The emphasis is on recycling,  and expressive art so you can mosaic any designs you like or be guided by your tutor.   We should finish on the day around 12:30pm

You are also most welcome to bring your own crockery pieces to include in your artwork if you wish.

At the end of the course, you'll have your own unique mosaicked bowl (about the size of a dinner plate).  The birds will love it, or it can be used as a garden ornament bowl/pet drinking bowl or even water hole for the bees – whatever you like!  They also make great gifts,
