Description
On this course students familiar with watercolour painting and its intricacies, will enjoy playing with watercolour paint, in a creative manner. Through playing with shapes, colours and textures, and application of paint in a variety of ways, students will create abstract paintings. This course is designed to utilise strengths in composition and colour, all while maintaining the passage of light through the painting. Be prepared to have loads of fun, while facing many challenges. Finishing work to a good standard of composition, incorporating values of light and dark will be a priority. Expect the unexpected!! Some previous experience in watercolour painting would benefit students.
Cost Breakdown Member: $240.75 Incl GST = $30.09 per class ($12.04 per hour).
Cost Breakdown Non Member: $267.50 Incl GST = $33.44 per class ($13.78 per hour).
Prerequisites
Some previous experience with water colours preferred.
Supplies
Paints Bring what you have, good quality paints with a range of colours. Some good darks to have include perylene green, Prussian blue and/or indigo, van dyke brown. Tube paints only. ( no Reeves or Maries paints thanks). A range of yellows, including new gamboge and raw sienna. Burnt sienna, and alizarin crimson, cobalt blue and ultramarine blue, other blues.
Masking fluid
A range of brushes including a good mop (size 20 or better)
Paper Fabriano A3 pad 1264, 25% cotton
Fabriano sheets 100% cotton, your choice of quantity and texture
Sketch pad, A5 is ok, and 2B or 4B pencil,
Masking tape
2 water containers,
Towel small
Spray bottle (spritzer) available from the $2 shop
